Never let it be said that you are any better at caring for your pets in Dragon Age.

It's a miracle that poor dog survived. I suppose it's marginally better with the one that already survived the darkspawn related illness, but when you're a Cousland? Yeah, no, sure, the Joining but for dogs, cool, cool. Put as much effort into being a responsible pet owner as Zevran did with lockpicking, I see.

Dog is a Grey Warden. Simplest Explanation.

You know, with all that blood spraying around you'd think that problem would extend to all your non warden companions

I just assume some weird off-camera thing happened that made my dog immune to the deleterious effects. 'Cause he's a good boy and I don't want to even pretend me or my character would be negligent in that regard.

He's such a good boy.

Mabari hounds can be turned into wardens, been readin The Last Flight haha. And the dog the warden cure should also be fine.

HOWEVER the Warden Cousland hound :///

There was originally going to be a subplot where your companions became infected and so you had to find out how to perform the Joining and make them Grey Wardens to save their lives, but it got cut and the devs just hoped our suspension of disbelief would gloss over the whole 'covered in darkspawn blood at all times' thing.

Though yeah, having the dog lick it off you is a bit much.

EDIT: Oh yeah, they did nod to it in Inquisition in the mage recruitment quest, when Leliana was noted to have a freakishly high resistance to the taint. Which is why she was tortured for a year and repeatedly had portions of her skin peeled off for experiments.

So yay immunity!

Since dogs won't fall ill from radioctivity in Fallout universe I just assume they are immune to everything across any universe

@Deonis: Is this how we learn what that cup contained? A mixture of darkspawn blood, mud, and general gore so that the dog accidentally went through the Joining by licking your filthy armor clean?

@Sharp-Claw: You know... you are absolutely right. Though, I suppose, they don't lick blood off you (I mean, ok, maybe Zevran and Oghren for different reasons, but like...)

@Broseidon: He is a very good boy. The best.

@Malla: Still haven't bought The Last Flight myself, and even if I did there's like... 40 books in my bookshelf that needs attention haha
But yeah... the Cousland dog is what concerns me the most...

@Guest: Why do you tempt me with abandoned plotlines like this? Hrngh

@mamiser: You know, if there ever was anything I wanted to be true...

@zenat: I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. XD
