Did anyone else feel cheated when they discovered that the dude in their party that went down like a chump every other serious fight was a god? That he was sitting on super powers that apparently there was no need to whip out even when approximately fifty pride demons were stomping on him and his pals? Like, mate, you can't leave everything up to Cassandra here. I know she's the best tank we could hope for and if she merged with Aveline they would be an unstoppable force, but like... we're a team here. Stop holding back.

He could secretly be Jughead, or Nara Shikamaru, or something. Always sleeping, looking to avoid actually doing anything. Lazy egg...

Everyone needs a break sometime.

@zenat: Well like you had him (try to) say, I think the idea was he'd been asleep for millenia, and hadn't quite woken up yet.

Still feels cheap as all heck, though. Especially since he shakes off that at-least-a-few-millenia of rust over the space of two years, but can't shake off more of it in-game.

After an excessive amount of debate, some friends and I decided that Solas was merely an exceptionally skilled and immortal mage for most of the game, and only got godly superpowers after he killed Flemeth and absorbed Mythal.

There was probably way too much thought put into this debate about the events of a video game.

@Broseidon: Don't try to make him relatable now...

@riverdaleswhiteflash: It would have been kind of neat if towards the end of the game he'd just have this sudden increase in stubborn survival? Like, he isn't about to show that he's more powerful than he is, but he just refuses to go down and clings to that last bit of health a bit more? Then again, I would probably not have noticed anyway so...

@Guest: That is a pretty neat theory, and yeah I think he absolutely got more powerful after consuming her, but then I kind of wonder... didn't he use his god mode powers to absorb Mythal? Thus needing to have them before...? And still not pitching in nearly enough in battles?

And that is just ONE of the many ways that Solas is an asshole.

I think him absorbing Mythal was less something he tried to force and more that she was giving it to him as a last resort after his plan had failed :/

I agree they could have done more to show he was more than a frail elven mage though.. But I wager that (at the time he was in your party) he really wasn't much more than what he appeared on the surface, just with a LOT of knowledge.

See, this is why Solas stayed home and Dorian was my go-to mage.

When Dorian goes down, it's because he's a normal, squishy mage. When Solas goes down, it's like an opossum playing dead.

@Sharp-Claw: He's a man of many talents.

@RejjeN: Possibly, yes, but... still. I want!

@Guesty Guestface: But then who was your tour guide to Thedas? Who did you consult whenever you came across a ruin or a new region or... Was I the only one who went on the Fantastical Fade Tours?
