simonjadis over at tumblr pointed out that, yes indeed, the Deep Roads end horribly in DA2.
As practical a player as I might be... whatever Carver has on him at that point is his. I will weep but he is my brother. Sacrifices have to be made. That is to say, I am making sacrifices, not Carver. Carver is only forced to throw his lot in with the grey wardens for life. I gave up valuable trinkets. Truly there is no end to my suffering.

It's horrible to lose him.The butt of every second joke is gone now.

btw. is there any mention of him as a grey warden in inquisition ?

@Sharp-Claw: If I remember correctly, Varric/Hawke will tell the Inquisitor that Carver/Bethany have been taken far, far away to protect them from whatever is going on. But that's about it.

@Sharp-Claw: Frankly it's a miracle Hawke survived without Carver there to suffer through it all.

@Ardnax: I think that's about it. It's a shame, really. They could have been the Grey Warden (not that I mind that I got to see Loghain again but, you know, if there is a Grey Warden that Hawke would definitely know...)

@Sharp-Claw: Yep, what Ardnax said. Though there is a reference to your sibling (if they were made a Grey Warden) with the Bottles on the Wall quest!

Yeeees >> at least you had Loghain. I had the terrible choice between Hawke and... what was that guys name again?
My Inquisitor didn't hesitate long <<;

Carver is the character I kinda feel weird for liking along with Loghain. So did you take all his things before you left the deep roads?

Kind of want to see him again, dragon age 2 had some of the best characters. I wish the last game would be a hit where anyone who isn't dead will make an appearance and will form an army of a hundred or so. It will be a huge awkward party of people who tried to have others people in the party killed at some point. As well as the odd relations between noble families. I cannot wait to see how I can screw up the royal royal situation in tevinter.

Wouldn't be half so bad, TBH, if there wasn't a limited amount of money to be earned in the game. Not even a gambling system to savescum through :(

@Shadeless: Stroud. Everyone else on earth had Stroud. I swear, I was the only one who had to lie down on the bed for a couple of minutes of pure angst at that part.

@wildmageguy: I like Carver too. He can say what he want, but after the "If you have a problem with my brother/sister, then you have a problem with me" with Fenris that was it. He's my brother now.
Aw man, I want the return of EVERYONE too. I mean, I know it won't happen, or if it does it will be so clumsy I will just refuse to acknowledge it, but... but... still...

@Broseidon: It's to ensure that you really get that feeling of struggling and relate to Hawke. Unfortunately, I relate too much and yes absolutely pick up even the torn pants to sell. Every little copper counts to get Gamlen out of that crappy hou- oh, wait...

Actually, there's a bug in both DA:O and DA:2 that lets you sell an item twice, then buy it back at the cost of one of them. Just put the item into your junk, then put your cursor over the item, and hit the buttons to "sell junk" and "sell" one after the other in quick succession.

Good Ol' Hawke, caring more about the equipment than her brother's well being

hold a moment, how does hawke have her champion armor in act 1? =O

Posted @ December 9th, 2018, 9:10 pm

@Blazypika2: Easy - she got it because I'm a creature of convenience and by now I don't need a reference photo of the champion armor ;) That and it's iconic. So it's not just me being lazy, you understand...
