Yes. Drow are elven aussies. It is known.
Can you shorten "sacrifice" to "sacro"? I don't know, and neither did my Australian relative. I tried, is what I am saying.

The drow campaign is back up and running again after a break during the summer, with (at this point in time when I am uploading this) 11 drow standing (and one corpse) in a little team heading towards the surface. Some survivors headed to Menzoberranzan, but otherwise these 11 are what remain of the original 60 drow of Uth Merlith.
Here's hoping the players are interested in doing what I've got planned, and don't go murder hobo the moment they see the sky for the first time.

Well, at least all those slaves have SOMETHING to laugh at now.

I don't think there are that many out of control fires in the Underdark.

i don't see the facination with drow to be honest. i mean sure, they look good with the dark skin, white hair and red eye., but calture wise, they just wannabe dwarves (not that they are successful at that). land down under indeed.

@Norgrath: well there are fires, i wouldn't say out of control since they are likely on purpose =P

@Blazypika2: I agree, Duergar on the other hand don't get any play :(

Posted @ October 10th, 2017, 9:06 am

@Sharp-Claw: I suppose there is that yes haha

@mamiser: Bianca usually lies underneath the table or in the hallway where she can keep an eye on us when we play. And, of course, celebrates wildly when people arrive. We have nicknamed her party dog for a reason.

@Norgrath: Well, the first sessions were a series of "our home city is on fire and the mind flayers are taking over" scenarios so...

@Blazypika2: Don't underestimate the importance of esthetics ;) I kind of fell in love with the drow back when I was introduced to Viconia in Baldur's Gate, and I just never felt out of love with them. And they are SO better than some measly dwarves (cue outrage)

@zenat: well they're elves so that makes them superiour to dwarves and any race really by default. and hey i do love their look, but give me that look on wood elves and i'm happy. or better yet, give the drow the calture of history they could have had it been done right instead of what it actually is. don't get me wrong i love the dark elves, or the idea of them anyway, which is why i am annoyed that there are very few platforms in which it is done right (sadly D&D isn't one of them).

@Blazypika2: Oh yeah, I absolutely agree that drow culture and society could have been done... a whole lot better. I love the potential, if not the execution, if that makes sense?

Posted @ October 10th, 2017, 10:49 am

@zenat: a lot. i guess that really my problem, that they are not what they could've been. by the way, you know that with the dragon age inquisition's character creator you can make a convicing looking drow right? :P

Do you read drowtales? It's really long webcomic that's basically a extended adaptation of drow lore.

So...much...laughing..

As the title says this comic has me in so much tears and wheezy struggles for breath, thank you so much!

@Blazypika2: I... might be aware of this fact... for reasons... ahem

@Norgrath: I remember reading a little of it waaaaaay back in the day. I might pick it up again actually.

@Robert Archer: If I leave but one legacy on this earth, then I hope it is that all drow ever rp-ed from this day forward have an aussie accent.

@zenat: Am Australian, can confirm that I'd shorten sacrifice to either sarco or sackie after the third sacrifice I did.

Posted @ June 2nd, 2018, 5:22 pm

@Tzeentch: It does lose something of its seriousness after the third time, doesn't it?
