The people of Kirkwall are either oblivious or so used to Hawke being a wandering catastrophe that they don't even care anymore, and no one can convince me otherwise. No one.

Reader Comments:

That is one of the things that annoyed me sooo much. Nothing and no one reacted to all hell breaking lose in the city. You could even throw firballs in the gallows and then talk to the templars like you didnt just explode fire in their face.

Perhaps they're simply highly focused on the murderific architectural touches thoughtfully scattered around literally every street and alley in Kirkwall?

After a couple of years like this no one even bats an eye anymore. XD

@Shaleene: I'm somewhere between "the templars are THAT oblivious and unsuited for their job" and "lyrium makes you extremely nearsighted" as far as explanations for that goes.

@TheAngriestOfAllEggs: It is true that you need to be careful as you make your way through Kirkwall, to avoid accidentally getting impaled... Again, why do people live here?

@Sharp-Claw: Blood mages on every corner, qunari all over the docks, slavers making regular visits, templars asking random people if they've seen mages because they themselves sure haven't, everyone and their mom are in a gang of some sort, Hawke... Personally I would move, asap.

when the inquisitor asks varric to tll a bit about himself, varric says something along the lines of "i'm from kirkwall and no it's not that bad" so clearly either people in kirkwall are in deniel or when varric told cassie the story he made it sound like they happy with their lot.

cassie: "so hawke just kill bandits and demons let and right, on the streets and the people of kirkwall are just fine with it?"

varric: "well it's a rough city, but we love it here!"

cassie: "i see..."

@TheAngriestOfAllEggs: Well they had to get rid of the skaters somehow. I guess the Viscount decided at some point that spikes in the walls and streets would solve the problem of unruly teenagers and their excessive momentum.

@Blazypika2: I mean, I'm sure there are some that notice what is going on and are just hanging around because they are in awe of how epic Hawke is. Granted, it is entirely possible that 100% of those people are Varric, but nevertheless.
