I have been playing waaaay too much Fire Emblem Fates *sweats*. I may or may not have already played through the first two DLCs and I’m in on the last one now.

To me FE is mostly a thinly veiled dating game, haha. I have a problem.

The accessory system is fun and all, but honestly when the crown prince of Nohr gets happy about a maid hat and runs around in it as if it was the finest crown, it feels a little wrong. He’s totes going to be the finest looking man in court, totes.

Is Fire Emblem not a thinly veiled dating game to most people?

apparently the dating stuff didn't start till fire emblem blazing sword, and that was just with supports that you had to actively keep side by side..and only certain ones could support at all..and not ALL of them were dating cause a bunch were..well..brother sister *looks at raven and his sister from blazing sword* but i think the only one other than awakening and fates that did the whole "have units become married, they have kids to fight for you thing" was genelogy of the holy war..like..WAY back before even the one with roy..i think i twas like the 4th game..and well its cause...well....lets just say, stone falls, everyone dies...

No, it isn't for fe4-12, and some modded hacks. Well, in four you had to set up people because of eugenics, and the need to have a powerful wind spell. And what with some of the optimal pairings being incestuous to get the best traits and skills and it being a major part of the game because of (spoiler). But 6-12 are all good, and not in any way like that, just good strategy games that will kill you if you stand a unit in the wrong place. And have an rng that hits you on a 8% chance, making you restart. But zander or marx does seem to the kind of person who would have a good bluff over a poor gift.

But it might be like bg, a game which is frustrating and takes time to adjust to. And with permadeath it is even more unforgiving than bg. I mean it did exist in the other games, but before 13 there was no player character you were just a strategist.

But what is this problem you speak of? wanting to put characters in funny hats? playing matchmaker for video game characters? Playing fire emblem? I fail to see it.

And based on your art and the way the sparkles happen no doubt he could be.
