Those of us who know horses had a wee bit of a surprise when the Inquisitor picked their first horse. For those of you who don't know what a chestnut is... it's basically a redheaded horse. The Inquisitor rides off on a bay.
Obviously not an oversight of the developers, but rather a commentary on the Inquisitor and their general horse knowledge. Good thing Dennet joins up and takes care of the poor creatures.
Yeah, as a person who has had dealings with horses and absolutely loves them, I know what you mean. The elf Inquisitor gets a bit of a free pass, being Dalish and not having experience with horses, but what about the human warrior/rouge? They've been raised as nobles, so they must have been around horses, right?
HA! I did not know this. Pure bred city girl. I know a pinto and and a white Arabian because duh. But I would have remained completely oblivious to the fact I was not riding off on a chestnut horse.
@Shaleene: Why only a white Arabian? All Arabian thoroughbreds would have the same features after all.
Maybe Dennet would've gotten to keep his horses if he'd given us something outrageous instead... Like a dracolisk. Although their legs hardly look like they'd carry a qunari. Haha.
I love this- I have been around horses all my life, owned a few, competed etc and I was so mad about that bit of dialogue when I saw that the horse was a dark bay. I have a friend who at the time worked at Bioware, and I texted him quite the angry rant. Love this comic, I follow it regularly. Great work guys!
I think my Mage Adaar never bothered to learn about horses largely due to how almost all of them aren't large enough for her to ride without her feet dragging.
@Jen: I suppose that's true. But the features oddly are the second thing I notice. I notice Arabian whites because.. well they are white. I don't actually register it's features until after I notice the color. >__> I know that sounds weird and probably confusing lol
