Watching the elven Inquisitor handle a sword makes me shake my head every time. Those little noodle arms can handle daggers *maybe* and when a mage who has not yet even gotten the option to start training as a knight enchanter picks up a sword... it just feels that they might as well pick up a stick and wave it around.
Spoiler: Those notes in the alienage in Origins about how elves who wield swords will die upon them? That wasn't a threat. That was a warning because elves have noodle arms and they kept accidentally impaling themselves.
Why is he picking you up and throwing you when he's a mage?
EDIT: My Adaar was pretty disturbed by someone big enough to pick her up with one hand.
Ah yes, I always chuckle at my little Lavellan holding up the giant inquisition sword at Skyhold and everyone cheering. I like to pretend they're cheering because she finally managed to pick it up.
@Norgrath: He wants to be big and intimidating. Except when I played Adaar I was more "hey I am stockier than you and you brought me up to your level, I'm gonna headbutt you D<" alas no such option :(
@ScreamingViking: Hahaha seems about right really.
I always laugh cause in my canon my Inquisitor is not only an elf, but she's also /only 16/ so her raising that big two-hander up in front of the crowd in Skyhold is just hilarious, like...
Not pictured: Ala flopping to the floor under the weight of a sword that's bigger than she is.
LOL! This is so true. Comically, however, I made my elven lady inquisitor a dual-weapon holder Reaver. Watching her swing that big sword around inspires me. Maybe one day, too, my gumby arms will be able to slice a house in half and eat the insides for fuel. I laugh so hard, she looks so itty-bitty next to Bull!
I think it fit the desperate situation, kind of just "grab whatever you can to put something between THE THING and you". Plus a sword of that size can't weigh more than 1.5 Kg at most, heck hand-and-a-half swords rarely weighed even 2Kg's... Even a child could pick up that kind of sword. Maybe they couldn't USE it, but they could certainly pick it up :)
The giant ceremonial sword used when you become inquisitor might be a different matter for spindly elven limbs however...
I HAD THE EXACT SAME REACTION.
I dare say that having not ever seen Corypheus before, hadn't played the DA II dlc, I dare say that the old man was sodding intimidating. Poor Aurelius Cadash looked like a stone-damned child next to his enormity. Can't imagine what it looks like to the Adaars here.
@RejjeN: This. But good luck trying to tell ignorant nerds this, we all know "daggers" are just so heavy too and no one without years of training could even lift them LMAO
(to be fair, they weren't fighting with it, they just used it to cut some rope)
