This honestly, actually happens. Cullen slaughtered half of my clan, MY CLAN! Because he thought it was a great idea to come marching up to the camp wearing full armor, as a show of strength. I learned to keep an eye on what my advisors were planning to do after that :I
Oh my Maker o.o
My first playthrough I didn't have an HD screen and so I couldn't read most of the text (i.e wartable stuff) so I usually just picked whichever had the shortest return time... I hate to think of the consequences...
Most of the time I was compelled to pick Leliana, since she offered the most reasonable strategies: go in, take/do whatever, leave secretly and the enemy is none the wiser. I hate to say it, but most of Cullen's missions involved picking herbs for me :D He was just too ... he lacked delicacy in most matters. There were also these missions where Leliana and Josephine had cool, elaborate plans, and he was all "No. This is ridiculous. Why should I do this" :D hilarious
Honest mistake Inquisitor! Who'd have thought that arriving as an army in front of a people known for it's xenophobia would turn this bloody?!
This happens to me too... and I loaded the game. Screwed maaaany gaming hours XD
But it was worth for. Clan lives!
The last mission with your clan is bad too. Choose the false one and the whole clan dies... choose the right one and the clan gets a wonderful life, give you many points and a unique hart.
...so yeah. Read the whole text.
...I did this since my second playthrough... when my whole clan died XD
@Malla: Needless to say I was very upset XD
@Norgrath: ...there were probably quite a few horrible outcomes then :I. Cullen, ahem, had some very interesting(?) tactics.
@Billie: I completely agree. Most of the time I weighed between Leliana or Josephine. Cullen's tactics tended to include, go in, show some muscle, leave... not exactly diplomacy A+. And yes the times when Cullen put his foot down made me laugh XD. The only time when I took Cullen's advice it was directly related to the military.
@Deonis: IT'S EASY TO BE WISE IN HINDSIGHT OK?! XD I honestly feel like the biggest idiot... at least I learned that I needed to pay more attention... the hard way :I
@Deemonef: Well, I am planning on romancing Solas, so I'll play a female elf inquisitor again. Then my clan, then you shall live :I
oh my goddd D: I didn't know this could happen; Cullen was busy during one playthrough, and I thought it sounded too aggressive during another playthrough, so I sent Leliana, but I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WOULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN.
thanks for taking one for the team so the rest of us know better lol
Yea.. I always make sure to read what their suggestion's are... when cullen made offered his help to explain shit to my clan... I was like, "You.. realize they are Dalish, and unlike the rumors of the Dalish elves stealing children and skinning them.... THEY ARE MISTRUSTWORTHY OF SHEM'S! ESPACIALLY IN FULL ARMOR!... cuz the last time that happened, The freaking Dales became a bloodbath.."
I made a mistake like in another game and learn to read everything before hand picking which why Cullen is usually not out there unless it does with fighting or war things
Best choice of Cullen: When Maevaris needs help in Tevinter; send a Templar in disguise, catch those assholes off guard.
Well to be fair all the advisers need to be carefully watched as sometimes as their ideas tend to range from unnecessarily murderous or mutilation from your spy adviser or diplomatically makes things worse. Cullen works great for the issue with the solders in the western approach or delivering the Halla.
@amiko_16: I feel like the biggest dumbass :I My claaaan ;o;! Keep your eyes on the war table shit gets real before you know it...
@Damean: Yes, well... I wish I'd paid more attention ;o;. Needless to say, Cullen sat on the bench or went out picking flowers most of my playthrough.
@ted the saiyanfox: I made that mistake, and I had to pay for it :I. But yeah, I can't say I used Cullen for much during my playthrough.
@Viktormon: I shall keep that in mind! Thanks for the tip ;D
@Aline1: Yeah, I used Cullen for both of those. Even if it felt a bit wrong to make the Halla be a "we surrender" thing, rather than the peace gift it actually was. But honestly Leliana and Josephine had far more assignments than Cullen during my playthrough, most of the time they've got their shit together. Other times, no XD
I went with Leliana or Josephine up until inside the city when I got all "screw you people then! If you don't want me acting nice, I won't" and then I chose Cullen, which turned out to be the right decision. And that was, amazingly enough, even IC for my character. XD After my first playthrough, though, I just keep choosing what gives me the most influence. I'm such a sucker for points and perks. I'll even let my characters be slightly schizo for them!
Happen to me too. I was like WTF CULLEN?!?! Rule of thumb, don't send Cullen unless its to smash cause. seriously Cullen!
