Second round I played a lady qunari and chose the templar side and, well, it was nice to see more of Cole and it made a whole lot more sense to accept his help. However... you lose out of Dorian's intro completely (and I loved that intro) and he ends up getting this super shady introduction instead, and I had so many objections but of course the game handwaved them away.
And come on. You know you would like to hear Dorian's complaints about the state of your dungeons.
I remember finding a dungeon in Skyhold... I lost it.
Dorian would probably find a way to get a bigger cell, spruce it up and invite people over for tea and biscuits.
I still need to play the templar side. For some reason I have three playthroughs on the mage side. I'm going to do it though! I want to see it.
You can still get his intro by going to redcliffe and doing the prelude to the Mage part of the main quest, and still go recruit the Templars. It's pretty cool that they actually have different dialogue when he appears at the gate, but I agree he does seem very shady when you haven't met him beforehand. (Hell, he seems kinda shady even then, despite how fabulous he is :P)
I wondered who that really fancy cell was for...
@Deonis: That is the most true and relevant comment about Dorian ever. I kinda want to write a ficlet about that. A shame that Inquisitor & pals need to leave Haven quite hastily so soon after Dorian's arrival, or this would be a thing.
@Deonis: And I would love to see that. Imagine getting a note that your prisoner hopes that the Inquisitor can join him for four o clock tea. Perf.
@LadySkibbles: Definitely worth seeing! Though... I do favor the mages.
@RejjeN: !!! I did not know that! Clearly the way to go for... um, well I guess my giant mess round. If I ever get there XD
@warrion: It still could though. When everyone had to up and leave Haven in a hurry I had a moment of horrible, horrible fretting because we had a man in the dungeon and I wasn't sure if they had gotten him out. Turns out he was ok after all and ready for judgement upon arriving in Skyhold, but still. It would have been nice to see him sitting around in the makeshift camp, tied up or something. Dorian could have done that too, if, you know, you got to throw him in the dungeon in the first place.
