I would never suggest that the aliens are, perhaps, complete morons, but at times when playing ME1... Well, I marveled that they ever managed to invent space travel. Wrex was absolutely unplayable, as he was huge and would without fail take the space right where I was taking cover. When he would inevitably die from not taking cover, he'd be too big a corpse to properly see around too. Let's just say he wasn't my favorite.
Garrus's habit of getting stuck behind doors is well documented (pressing buttons is a difficult concept, ok?) but I'm not sure how many had Tali angrily leaving cover to shoot people in the face in full view. It happened with Jack once in ME2 too, to be fair.
Liara left Ashley and Shepard once to deal with a long area of frankly reasonably difficult enemies on their own, because a corner at the start of the area was too difficult to leave behind. And I can't bring her to places with pillars, at all. They're her best friends.
Strangely enough, Kaidan and Ashley never exhibited these kind of problems when I played with them.
I always figured Tali had seen too many action movies and wanted to go Rambo with her shotgun. XD
wow usually my main combat team is garrus and wrex and surprisingly i have little problems with them...matter of fact when my shield goes down and i'm scrambling for cover or health, they're shooting shit up.
Now I'm just imagining Liara admiring architecture while everyone else fights; it makes me happy.
As we all know, action hero cops aren't good with doors because they're either breaking them down, or traveling through vents, so it's perfectly reasonable why Garrus wouldn't know how to use one.
I just absolutely love the way you guys come up with reasons for their behaviors XD
Huh, When I played Mass Effect, I didn't have those problems with the alien Ai, although EVERYONE at some point had a problem with Shepard's personal space. Especially Kaidan, to which because I was playing a male Shepard, would mutter, "wait till mass effect 3 Kaidan, mass effect 3".
As for Tali's action hero behavior.... I thought it was just my Vanguard being a bad example (I was lousy with taking cover too.)
There's a reason my sister, the better gamer has trouble watching me play Mass Effect.
Most of the time my team was either Wrex and Garrus or Wrex and Tali...never had any of those problems. Oo
Was it probably fixed with a patch later?
Because I picked ME1 up pretty late together with ME2...
@Lorac: I don't know. I bought ME1 when I got ME2 for free together with DA2 (and so my journey into sci-fi begun...), but I'm not sure if I ever even checked for patches. I doubt it, actually.
