Look, we all thought it when Riordan made the revelation. A newly introduced NPC who we haven't gotten enough time to really care about? Your newly introduced superior? At the end of the game? Someone's going to die and leave you with all the responsibility. Better start debating which one matters more to you - the Warden or Alistair (cue Morrigan).
That's not necessarily the case. You might be trying to decide whether the Warden means more to you than Loghain.
I don't know. When I first saw Riordan I was like: *O* This guy is awesome! I really like him! Gosh you are sooo brave! A hero!
But I'll had to do the dirty work anyways... :(
@riverdaleswhiteflash: I consider Loghain a worthy character to sacrifice the Warden for. Though I acknowledge that I'm a minority here XD
@KillingMoonLight419: Haha, I wasn't very impressed with Riordan truth be told. He arrived too late to the party, and it was too obvious that he was going to die off quickly.
Ah, the perils of being an exposition character...
@zenat Loghain is Bioware's character, the Warden is mine. If I have to let one die, the choice isn't hard. Though this is usually academic since I like having Morrigan around. (Even if I don't actually use her often.)
Just reading the comments here three years later with inquisition out... holy fuck
@Norgrath: Hahaha holy shit XD I stand by my 2013 self on this, Loghain is more important than my Warden... and... Hawke (but it was close and horrible)
