Amare likes to make fun of me and my Dragon Age reactions. Which is fine. Especially when she does it in the style of Hark! A Vagrant.
Hahaha, I just love that comic meme! And this is priceless! xD
Unfortunately, I'm not very hyped about DA3, especially after it became clear there will be no option for choosing your character's race again, and we're stuck being human like Hawke. I so hoped to play as a kossith, for variety's sake.
Well, at least there's a chance there will be a romance option that is one. And I'd bet all my (two) hats that if Cullen is a romance option, a ton of people will make a mage character just to get him, because of the whole thing in Origins! xD I can just picture the hysteria.
After DA2 and ME3 endings I am so heartbroken that I won't buy DA3 XD I better watch it on Youtube or borrow from a friend XD
So nah, mr. DA3, nope, I don't trust your charming concept art :P
Why should a kossith help the chantry with their problem? The origins in DAO were just to show the different societies on Thedas. A kossith would make as much sense as a dalish. No sense. Both had exalted marshes against them. And the dwarves of Orzammar or Kal Sharok: They have too many own problems to give a fuck on the surface if their is no blight.
I'm also not happy with not being able to choose race, but if the level size is as huge as they said it will be, then I think it's an okay sacrifice. I also believe Cullen better be in it. D=< What's DA without a puppy-faced templar?
DA3 - Wishing you could have its DLC babies since fall 2013.
I don't really understand the concept of having us play only as humans in the next game, but I hope there is some reason to it... Can't really say much until we get more info on DAI.
I explained the reasons. Dalish and Qunari had exalted marshes against the chantry, dwarves of Orzammar and Kal Sharok have too many own problems to give a fuck about the idiots on surface.
You could have still had choice about race though. There are plenty of surface dwarves that could have gotten involved with the Chantry if they wanted to. And since the Chantry runs orphanages it's not entirely impossible to have raised an elf or kossith (probably progeny of Tal-Vashoth runaways) into a loyal Andrastian and perhaps Inquisitor if deemed sufficiently talented for the job. Since they'd let mages into the order, why not other races if they were raised on the surface or generally among human society?
After all, I'm talking about race, not a different society. When I say elf, I mean elf, not a Dalish from the Dalish society. Kossith are also a race and therefor aren't confined to being strictly raised as Qunary. Otherwise, yes, these societies wouldn't care about the Chantry. But we're talking about race and a single individual, who could have easily been written as not being a part of these societies and therefor more likely to actually get involved in Chantry business.
@Bansheebot: The Chantry isn't known for its equal oppotunity polices. I'm pretty sure, over two DA games, the only chantry priests we've seen are human (call me out if I'm wrong there, I'd like to be sure). I can't imagine (in lore) that they'd give an inquisitorial title (keep in mind that my examination of DA3 teaser stuff is very limited) to a non-human. In universe one could (thinly) justify a mage as they can do things that a normal person simply can't but realistically I suspect they'd rule out the mage class as an option for you if they weren't aware how badly that would tick off the fanbase. On the other hand they've already had a game with a nesscessarily human protagonist and they can't make things worse by doing it again (aside from the fact that they can but hey).
En contraire, if you think back to Origins, there was a dwarven chantry priest in osgrimmar when you went there or maybe he was just a devoted of the maker, nevertheless, i think that qualifies :) But yes the chantry is very biased and evil (Mage all the way)
There was brother Burkel in Orzammar(I might have gotten the spelling wrong) I also believe there were some elves who became priests who wrote Hawke in DA2. I do agree that the Chantry is rather biased though and what nobleman who believes all elves are servants or slaves would take an elf in a high position seriously? It was said that if an elf would get into hightown on their own they would be ran out of hightown and back into the Alienage or killed. I just hope the customization for the human protagonist will be better and with the new graphics engine they're using, I've come to understand that it will be better this time around?
tell you what.
be three endings all just different colours. I mean it IS a Bioware game.
Thats why I'm waiting atleast a month before buying it. Ending and lots of other outcries.
For the love of all that is holy I seriously hope they don't do that again, thought they learned from ME3... At least I hope they learned...
@Bansheebot: I would make a mage character :I I am not ashamed to admit this XD.
I guess maybe they just want to keep the story tied together to make sure it get's a grand finale? I won't judge it until I see it, but I am hoping for the best here... I really really am!
@byarru: But maybe mr DA3 will be so handsome that you cannot resist his wily charms? maybe mr DA3 will shine irresistibly? What then?
@Kioneslayer: Cullen BETTER be in it! I do like that puppy-faced, fanatic templar :I. Well, we'll just have to wait and see if it was a worthy sacrifice. Let's hope for the best!
@Jay: We'll just have to wait and see... with pom poms?
@thealmightymoo: They didn't always have only three different colours TAT. Perhaps this time it'll be a few more?
As long as there's a whorish elf in the party, I'm good. That elf is always fun to mess with.
@Amare: Meh. I'm not happy about not having a racial choice, but more than that, I'm a lot more skeptical about the franchise than I once was. I feel like Hawke never got anything remotely like closure before they kicked DA2 to the curb. Given that, and the ME3 issue, I'm concerned that once again, I'm going to get invested in a character and then get to the end and want to punch my monitor.
I love the Dragon Age series...and considering how 2 was somewhat of a letdown with a couple of negative changes...I can't wait to see this marvelous game come together.
Apparently you'll be able to choose your race AND the game is fully voiced. Oh DA3... be gentle.
