Captain Jerker hasn’t gotten very far in his adventures, in part because he can’t bring Corso anywhere without dying in the process. And I question the logic of combining a long distance character with a companion who insists on standing next to you and drag the enemy to you.
My main character is a Smuggler and Corso isn't so bad if you keep him using a rifle. Since then he jumps into the fray and keeps them far away while you shoot them as they kill him. Though now I know when he gets that harpoon ability to say "Bad Corso bad go sit in the corner!"
Don't hate on Corso, he's adorable. Especially considering they've fixed this since the beta (he doesn't have a harpoon anymore).
*Edited to not be such a jerk about it.*
@Guest: The fact that he has the harpooning ability with a long ranged character isn't exactly the best choice of combo to begin with...
@Norgarth: Well, Zenat and I played with smuggler long after beta and then he was still doing it. So it did take a while before they fixed it.
Character wise I don't find him very adorable since he is supposed to be the perfect gentleman in a universe where women and men are supposed to be equal. So it doesn't really work and makes him a little offensive.
@Amare: He's supposed to be out of touch, trying to be the perfect gentleman when it makes no sense at all (theres even a couple of dialouges about it).
@Norgrath : Yeah, well the thing with star wars the old republic is that it's supposed to be a universal thing with equality between men and women. How can he then be out of touch if there never was such a thing as inequality to begin with? It doesn't really make sense.
And honestly, I understand that he is supposed to be that way, I do. I just don't like it. I love some people in the world and others I don't care very much for. It's how it works. So I guess personality wise in Corso they did well, because at least I have feelings of dislike towards him rather than "meh!".
@Amare: I don't find it plausible that a world as vast as the star wars galaxy has no gender bias anywhere in it.
This is so true. Speaking as a Smuggler Captain myself, I know the problem all too well. I hated Corso as a companion, but liked him as a character. I was happy when I finally got the Wookie. I thought, hey, a proper tank! Just what a squishy Gunslinger lady needs!
... except he wasn't.
He keeps bashing enemies into new mobs an ruins every tactic you had planned.
Stupid Wookie. Stupid Corso -.-
I still love playing as a Smuggler, though <3
