A companion piece to Amare's post-Mass Effect trauma XD
Sometimes I react very strongly to things in games, novels, etc. Certain feelings get deeply connected to certain things. To the point where I was genuinely had knots in my stomach when the Mako reappeared in ME2. And was unbelievably relieved when it was made away with in a cutscene and I didn't have to drive it. But then, I can't drive it at all and spent ages trying to make it up mountains and falling bouncing down. It's natural that it would be connected with a lot of bad feelings and frustration.
I did NOT expect the same feelings to ambush me at the sight of the fishtank in ME3. The constantly dying fishes apparently had a bigger impact on me than I thought XD
In a similar vein, I replayed the Luna mission in ME1 and spent the entire time horribly conflicted. The final message got me teary eyed and going all "right in the feels TTATT"
When do you get the mako in ME 2???? the only one i found was coverd in ice
Yeah, I had the hammerhead... So I don't know if you get the mako again if you didn't buy the Cerberus pack.
@Skyhigh: You don't. But it looks like they are going to make you drive it when you're on... Tuchanka, I believe it was. It just jumps to a cutscene though, but oh dear lord, the feeling of dread at the sight of that thing...
Oh, yes I remember now.
Yeah, my heart sank when I saw it and thought that I was going to have to attempt to drive that thing again.
I actually liked the Mako.
When I saw it driving by in the last Mission of ME3, I just was like: "Gimme that, you'll ruin it!"
Guess what happend.
Damn AI doesnt know Hit-and-Run-and-Jump-while-shooting-till-its-dead tactics
It blew up?
IF they gave us a chance to drive MAKO in the ending of ME3, we would save the world, destroy all the Reapers and save everybody like da boss!
But they didn't so, nope :( The owlrd is doomed XD
Rather drive an AT-AT instead of the glorified shopping buggies -_-... NEVER AGAIN!
@byarru: Except for me. I would get stuck in a doorway and the reapers would win, while Garrus tried to be supportive and Tali was outraged that Shepard hadn't taken driving lessons since last time. I remain glad that the mako never returned good and proper XD
Exactly. We would just have taken the damn thing through the beam into the Citadel.
Worked in the first Game, would have worked again.
Well, the Hammerhead was a good alternative. It was obviously made out of paper, but it was fast and ridiculously easy to control.
But Bioware was just like: NOpe, no Vehicles for you.
@zenat: Upon replaying ME1 recently and doing the Luna base mission, I suddenly burst out crying when my brain went (spoiler alert, by the way): "Oh God! That's baby EDI crying for help!"
I had the exact same thing about the mako!
The hammerhead was very annoying, I have no aim with a controller, so trying to jump from bit to bit was mostly mashing the button to make it float.
I swear that there's a thing that'll get Kelly to feed the fish in ME2, but I never found it. (Probably a male shep thing)
No, not really. You just have to be nice to her and invite her to Dinner.
One of the Reason my Renegade F!Shep never had fish.
The other was her attitude to not waste money for something other than weapons and upgrades ;)
........Is it sad that I have both of these traumas too?
@SilverHyena: I, personally, find it very comforting to know I'm not alone XD
I just started playing ME1 (got the Trilogy 2 days ago, haven't had a chance to play till 2day which annoyed me to no end.) and I swear to god I flinched when I seen the Mako O.O and then when I had to drive it I think I almost ran into the lava D: that thing is scary... My Fem-Shep is probably gonna have the same reaction when I get to the 2nd game lol.
